Tonight I saw [title of show] on Broadway (it is in previews for a few more nights) and it was great! The story was raw and true. It speaks to the heart of the audience.
It’s the story of writing a musical and the journey to Broadway. The struggles of the writers/actors really comes alive on stage-probably because it is performed by the very people that went through it all. Their real emotions do come out. They are playing themselves which I can only imagine can be really difficult. The songs were catchy, funny, witty and just plain smart. They poke fun at the NY that everyone loves to hate and hates to love. There are references to old Broadway, new Broadway and everything in between.
I would highly recommend the show to anyone that doesn’t mind some cussing, bras and semi-out of shape guy. The show truly deserves to be where it is because it is so original and raw. Check it out when you’re in NYC and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
