NYU’s Kimmel Center has for some unknown reason to me decided to change their system of getting into the building. Upon entering you must show your ID to the guard, instead of swiping and walking through a turnstyle. It’s a little weird and we’re all getting used to it but I must say that the habit of swiping in is so ingrained in NYU students that everyone still swipes to get into the open turnstyles on the 2nd floor. It’s not necessary! So stop swiping and just walk.

I must admit that I sometimes worry that the turnstyles will turn on again and close on me. That remains a constant fear-probably because it’s almost happened a few times to me. But I remain confident that they are turned off for good, so no more swiping until further notice! It’ll move everyone through Kimmel faster, this could be a very good thing.
