It seems like there are new food trucks every week. In the same week, 2 lobster trucks launched! Total insanity. I decided to check out Luke’s Lobster Truck, the truck version of the popular East Village restaurant. I probably stood in line for about 30 minutes or so but got my food almost as soon as I ordered, so if you have some time to kill, you really only have to wait in line once. The lobster roll itself is expensive ($15 a la carte), so I opted for the Shrimp Roll ($8). For an extra $2 you can get a drink and chips, so I went that route. And yummmmy was it good!
The shrimp had a great seasoning on it. It is a great option for a summer meal. And it comes with a fresh pickle, which I liked, despite the fact that I’m not a big pickle fan. I was surprisingly full after eating the sandwich since it’s not the biggest thing in the world, I think the chips helped though. I hope the line goes down as the weeks go on because I can’t do that all the time! Oh, another perk: once you’re close to the truck, you can hear the awesome summer classic music playing, can’t remember exactly what I heard but I was singing along.
Check out Luke’s Lobster. If you have the $15 try the lobster roll and tell me how it is–I’m not sure if I’m willing to pay that much for lunch, but I’ll stick with the $10 for the shrimp, or a bit more for the crab.
