The Class of 2009 at NYU and ASU (and many other schools too) have officially graduated. Many of my friends were members of this class and as today ends, it frightens me that that will be me next year. In exactly one year I too will be a college graduate, entering the real world. EEEEK I refuse to really think about it for awhile…

As I sit here I can’t help but be jealous of ASU right now (first time in probably forever-sorry Sun Devil friends but I love NYU!) because their Commencement speaker is President Obama. I’m so impressed by him. Wow. He’s so articulate and smart. He can poke fun at himself (i.e. the fact that he’s not getting an honorary degree from ASU, the pit of a great Daily Show segment last night). I am very happy that he’s President. And while yes, there is still a long road, I am proud to have a leader like him who is committed to making our country better. Is it better yet? Not really…but it’ll come around.

Anyway, I hope that I have a great Commencement speaker next year. NYU had Secretary of State Hilary Clinton today, I’m sure she was great too-I didn’t see her speech, I was working. Obama’s speech was very inspirational and true. Yes, there were some definite political remarks but of course there were. Anyway, it was great. I’m jealous ASU grads, hopefully NYU one ups you next year!
