Hi all, I wanted to let you know about a few changes I am making to this site and my military spouse blog. I have had this as my primary blog for years but it’s time for a change. So starting soon, this site will be more of a professional site/portfolio. The blog will still live here but won’t be updated regularly. If you want to know what I am.. Read More
I am late to the game watching Girls but I’m finally watching it and I like it. I’ve only watched the first 4 episodes so far but let’s just say I’ll be catching up over the next week or so! One of the reasons it resonates for me is that it reminds me of a people I went to school with and knew in NYC. And the girls overall search.. Read More
Over the holidays we opted to stay close to Washington and avoid the airports, so we drove down to Cannon Beach, Oregon for a much needed vacation. Yes going to the ocean in December sounds crazy, especially since you know it rains a lot up here in the Pacific Northwest, but we still had a blast!
I don’t know about you but I’m seriously obsessed with Downton Abbey. The British TV show is FANTASTIC and I’m so glad PBS broadcasts it here stateside, since it’s just. SO. GOOD! So when I discovered this cookbook, well you can guess what I asked for from Santa this Christmas. Santa knows me pretty well. #christmas A post shared by Jessica Hall (@jessicanicolehall) on Dec 25, 2012 at 3:52pm PST.. Read More
Again, apologies for my lack of posts here, but I’ve been blogging away at More Than a Military Spouse, if you haven’t checked it out yet, please do! I was so lucky to get the chance to go to Hawaii to see two of our friends get married in October. I was last in Hawaii about ten years ago and went to Maui and Kauai on a family vacation. This.. I hope to share stories of spouses, girlfriends, fiancees, and boyfriends from all branches of the military, all ranks, as well as let people into what is becoming a.. Read More
I went back to Portland this summer with a friend and while looking into what to do she discovered the International Rose Test Garden. This free garden has hundreds of varieties of roses that you can wander through.
I got a request from a special someone to bake cake-in-a-jar, so voila! I will say that I did buy big jars which resulted in me having to make the whole cake recipe in two parts (since I thought I would just half it to fill them, alas nope). So definitely take jar size into account when deciding how much to make of a recipe. Fortunately it was a simple.. Read More
As I’m sitting waiting for the Olympics to begin broadcasting again on TV (I mean seriously, 3 hours of NO OLYMPICS?!?) I decided that I wanted to use up my last peach from the farmer’s market. I knew that it was a bit bruised on the outside so if I were to eat it I’d be cutting it into pieces, so I decided to make a cocktail. I browsed my.. Read More
I’ve been a fan of Chihuly since middle school. That probably sounds a bit crazy but my mom ran the Art Masterpiece program in our school district and introduced some new artists, so it was more than just Van Gogh, Monet, Rembrandt and Lichtenstein. She added Dale Chihuly, the Pacific Northwest native who is an amazing glass artist. He hasn’t let an accident that left him injured in one eye.. Read More
